How lucky are we, people from Amsterdam, to have such a nice river like the Amstel in our city :)
Tomorrow is Koninginnedag in The Netherlands, which means the whole city will be filled with orange-dressed people and there will be lots of old stuff for sale. I have to work in the evening, but I’m off now to party! I hope I can get up a little bit early tomorrow to find some nice secondhand stuff :)

Sure, you can say a lot of non-fun things about working eveningshifts… But one of the positive sides of it I remembered yesterday again. Biking home around 01:00 at night I listened to some nice music on my iPod, enjoying the empty streets and the flash of my camera :)
When I was just 5 minutes on my way I found two beautiful chairs at the street. Actually, they were too heavy and too big to take them with me on my bike. But I tried anyway. Lucky for me this guy stopped his car to offer me some rope to tie them to my bike (ha! how great is that?!) and so I walked for about an hour. Then climbed 4 stairs and I was home. Exhausted! I found out that the chairs are from Knoll/Saarinen, like this one, but a bit darker fabric. Nice find, huh! :)
Just a quick hello, I’m almost on my way to work (= biking through sunny Amsterdam)…

Yesterday was GJ’s 28th birthday :)
We celebrated it with coffees, a bagel and a muffin in the morning. After that we rode our bikes through town, searching for a racing bike he wanted. Not succeeded yet. Around half past 3 we ended up at Brouwerij ‘t IJ, drinking beers from Amsterdam beneath a windmill. After that 3 other bars and on my way home in the middle of the night I found a bunch of yellow flowers, which are looking very nice in my room right now :)
Last Sunday we had an Easter Feaster (remember the poster I made for it?) at the OCCII, here in Amsterdam. There were a lot of bands playing, a lot of food and chocolate eggs to eat and there was a poster exhibition I participated in. It was a lot of fun and it was so nice to see all of the other posters. I swopped 3 posters with two guys who design posters for the Vera venue, one of the nicest venues (and with the best posters) in The Netherlands. I’m off now to start again at my old job. Last year I worked a temporary job at the design department of a national newspaper. A few weeks ago they called if I could help out again, so I don’t know for how long I will be there this time. It’s a really nice job with great people, but it also feels kind of weird to start working again at a real job after 3 months of working from my home. Today I have an evening shift and then tomorrow and Thursday just regular day hours… Wish me luck! :)

It’s so nice when you ride your bike through town and you suddenly see things that make you stop and pull out your camera :) The balloons were just floating into the tree when I passed by.
I hope you are having a lovely weekend, I did finish some work today, but going to relax now! Maybe watch an episode of Lost…does anyone of you watch Lost or any other series?
Does anyone of you use Wordpress as a blog and also get lots of spam in their comments? Most spam doesn’t show in the comments, thank god, but I still have to mark them as spam. And now it’s like 20 comments or so a day sometimes! Any advice?

So, Sunday after the opening of the exhibition we went to the fair that was nearby. It was a lot of fun, we all hadn’t been to a fair or an amusement park in years. We have done 2 rides on the rollercoaster and 1 ride on some sort of Octopus ride. :)
I’m also very happy that I purchased a ticket to the Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy show and and a ticket to the show Antony & The Johnsons is playing in Amsterdam with an orchestra. Yeay!
